The Hall of Medical Education at the Rafha Central Hospital
hosted the governor of Rafha, Badr Al-Hazza in the 23rd global
Breastfeeding week (breastfeeding; tender and pleasing) event and the enhached exhibition and a number
of health officials in Saudi Arabia.
A ceremony was held began with a speech by the head of the
nursery department and breastfeeding program supervisor Hdaaba Shammari in Rafha Hospital, who confirmed the
importance of breastfeeding and its impact on child. Followed by a speech by Dr.
Ahmad Najib, breastfeeding program supervisor at the northern province, who
talked about the importance of early
initiation of breastfeeding. He said that there are over a million children die
every year in the world as because of drinking unsafe industrial milk.
Dr. Hamdi Qadri, pediatrician in Rafha Hospital, said that
the breastfeeding rates among Saudi mothers is still too low despite the launch of several awareness campaigns programs to encourage
breastfeeding as that studies and researches have shown that artificial feeding
can cause microbes, and parasites attacks.
At the end of the
ceremony the Governor Badr Al-Hazza presented certificates and to all the participants
in the events.
